What We Stand For

Universal Basic Income

Universal Basic Income (UBI) is a government program in which every adult citizen receives a set amount of money on a regular basis. The goals of a basic income system are to alleviate poverty and replace other need-based social programs that potentially require greater bureaucratic involvement.

Ranked Choice Voting

  • Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) is an electoral system in which voters rank candidates by preference on their ballots

  • With RCV, you can rank candidates on your ballot in the order you prefer: 1st choice, 2nd choice, 3rd choice, and so on. If your favorite can’t win, your vote counts for your next choice.

Why RCV?

The electoral process in the United States has a critical flaw: people who would normally vote their conscience are prevented from "throwing away their vote" to do so. This further solidifies our stagnant 2-party system, increases partisanship, and detaches politicans from the will of the people.

By letting voters list their other preferred candidates, third parties have a fighting chance and our politics will better represent our people.

Democracy Vouchers

Democracy Vouchers are a type of public campaign financing that makes campaign donors more representative of the overall population. With Democracy Vouchers, voters each get a certain amount of votes (and money) they can spend on a candidates, allowing citizens to directly finance their candidates. This lets candidates fundraise for competitive campaigns without relying on big money and limits the influence of special interests over elected officials.
